Personal Data

I now serve as the first Director of Hofstra’s Center for Civic Engagement, a new university-based institute designed to strengthen democratic values by encouraging students to actively participate as knowledgeable citizens in their campus, local, state, national and global communities.

Since 2005 I have also become one of six members of the Rose Series editorial collective. The Rose Series is a social policy-focused book series sponsored by the American Sociological Association and published by Russell Sage.

I am currently working on a book for undergraduate course use about issue framing and its consequences on politics, policy and social life.
