Respecting All Voices
Emphasis is placed on the resistance of cultural imposition and importance of local teachers’ voices and narratives. Recognition is also given to the importance of connecting with conflicting groups and the acceptance of irreconcilable narratives of the same lived events. Importance is placed on the exploration of commonalities in teaching and learning across cultural contexts and sustaining local teachers and teaching organizations through the use of technology to connect them with teachers and scholars in the international community. The purpose and intent of ICEC are ambitious but entirely possible and the urgency of the work and for the center is unquestionable.
