Welcome To
Robotics Camp 2009

Session 1 - July 6 - 17
Session 2 - July 20 - 31
Session 3 - August 3 - 14

Robotics - Level 1: ROB-01

Level 1 Campers will learn the fundamental engineering and technical principles of building and programming robots to move and function autonomously (on their own). Campers will work in small teams, (2-4 campers) which will require sharing and cooperation to accomplish various tasks. Through the use of sound, light, and touch sensors campers will be able to program their robots to “see, hear, and perceive” their surroundings. Using these capabilities, campers will put their newly acquired skills to work in exciting challenges such as obstacle courses, races, and contests of moving objects. Campers learn how to use the actions and reactions of the robots to strategically solve problems and puzzles and most importantly, have FUN doing it!

Note:

There is a $40 surcharge per two-week session for additional materials and staff requirements.

Level 1 is open to girls and boys entering grades 4 through 9.

A camper may register for one session only. Limited enrollment per session.

Prerequisites: None (No prior programming or robotics experience necessary.)[Back to Top]

Robotics - Level 2: ROB-02

New for 2009!

Campers will design and build various specialized robots for different tasks, games, and challenges. In cooperative teams, campers will personalize their robots and learn more advanced engineering and programming techniques. Campers will use these skills to accomplish higher-end robot tasks and engage in challenging competitions. Campers will engage in single-robot challenges, as well as group robot challenges to combine techniques and capabilities to complete more complicated tasks and challenges. Campers will also learn the basics of programming remote-control for their robots, as well as learning to give their robots more advanced autonomous capabilities (Artificial Intelligence).

Note:

There is a $40 surcharge per two-week session for additional materials and staff requirements.

Open to girls and boys entering grades 4 through 9.

A camper can take all three sessions. Limited enrollment per session.

Prerequisites: ROB-01[Back to Top]
