Lunch Menu for Sports Academy Camps
Lunch is served daily in Hofstra University's dining facilities and includes a full variety of hot entrees, sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, salad, dessert and assorted beverages (available every day).
Lunch Menu for Specialty Camps
Each child has a daily choice of sandwiches, hot entrees, unlimited salad and fruit bar, vegetables and dessert. All of these choices are listed below.
- Hot Entrees (one every day)
Pizza, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs (served separately), fried chicken and fish sticks. - Vegetables (served every day)
- French fries or potato-tots, carrots, corn or green beans.
- Sandwiches (served every day)
- Turkey, roast beef, tuna, cheese, peanut butter and jelly, hamburgers, hot dogs and bagels.
- Fruit Bar (served every day)
Bananas, pears, sliced oranges, sliced cantaloupe or sliced watermelon.
- Salad Bar (served every day)
Fruit cocktail, fresh raw vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower), tossed salad, bean salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, black olives, sunflower seeds, cottage cheese, croutons and salad dressings and yogurt.
- Beverages (served every day)
Skim milk, milk, chocolate milk, punch, iced tea, lemonade, orange and apple juice.
- Desserts (one every day)
Ice cream, Italian ices, cookies, brownies and pudding.

General Transportation Information for All Camps

Door-to-door transportation will not be provided for any registrations received after:
- Session 1 - June 2
- Session 2 - June 16
- Session 3 and 4 - June 23
Parents are notified approximately one week prior to each session as to when their child will be picked up for door-to-door transportation.
Area pickups:
- Approximate pickup time is between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. (some bus routes may be earlier).
- Departure time from Hofstra University is approximately between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m.
- Please place your choice on the registration form.
- Each camper must have the same pickup and drop-off address.
- Session Four: Pickup and drop-off is at Hofstra USA.
- Bus routes and drivers may be changed each session.
- We will not reroute buses in order for campers to be with friends.
- Vans do not have counselors; drivers supervise.
- Buses with more than 17 campers have counselor supervision.
Getting Transportation From Nassau County
Door-to-door transportation is provided for Nassau County residents only.
Certain outlying areas in Nassau County (such as Bayville, Lattingtown, Mill Neck, Cove Neck, Locust Valley, Oyster Bay Cove, Matinecock) will use Teddy Roosevelt School area pickup.
Manor Haven, Laurel Hollow, Kings Point and Sands Point will be assigned to a bus stop by the transportation office.
Please bring your child to the pickup area by 7:30 a.m. to meet the bus and return at approximately 5:00 p.m. to pick up your child.

Please bring your child to the selected pickup area by 7:00 a.m. to meet the bus, and return at approximately 5:45 p.m. (depending on traffic)

Getting Transportation From Queens
Door-to-door transportation is provided in designated areas (Little Neck, Rosedale, Bellerose, Floral Park, Cambria Heights, Douglaston, Queens Village and Bayside). All other locations are served by area pickups.

Please bring your child to the selected pickup area by 7:45 a.m. to meet the bus, and return at approximately 5:00-5:15 p.m. to pick up your child.

Note on Deads Ends and Cul-De-Sacs
Parents must contact the Transportation Office to make arrangements for dead ends or cul-de-sacs. Families that live on dead-end streets or cul-de-sacs MUST meet the bus at the corner of the block for pickup and drop-off. [Back to Top]
