PERSONAL TRAINER/HEALTH FITNESS INSTRUCTOR: LEVEL 1 U1971
Students are provided with the most relevant scientific information available regarding the assessment, design, and implementation of safe, effective and efficient client-centered exercise instruction. In addition to theoretical classroom instruction, students participate in hands-on practical skills training labs where the practical aspects of resistance training exercise and fitness assessment skills are taught and practiced in a state-of-the-art training center.
Course Notes: Lectures are held on Hofstra's campus.
Prerequisites: U1881-51 Human Anatomy and Physiology (or a university-level course in human anatomy, to be verified by official transcript from the institution) and CPR certification (which may be acquired simultaneously with the personal-trainer course).
