Where is Hofstra Located?
Location
Hofstra University is located on Long Island in Hempstead, NY, just 40 kilometers east of New York City. Hofstra's park-like campus offers the perfect combination of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, with the laid back atmosphere of American Suburbia.
Orientation at Hofstra
New international students are required to attend an orientation program, which is usually held the week before classes begin. During this time, students take the English Language Placement examination, meet with academic advisers and faculty to discuss curriculum, and register for classes. They also move into their residence halls, establish bank accounts, become familiar with Hofstra and the surrounding area, and meet other international and American students. Orientation is an exciting beginning to the student’s Hofstra experience.
