Life Beyond Graduation
Life beyond graduation ?

Yes, there is life after college. We?ll help you prepare.

Your time as a college student may end, but your relationship with the University doesn?t have to. The moment you receive your diploma, you join a family of 95,000 members from all around the world: You are a Hofstra alumnus. It?s a distinction that comes with many privileges and opportunities. As an active member of our Alumni Organization, you will be able to stay in touch with the friends you have made at Hofstra. And you can still enjoy a number of benefits you?ve enjoyed as a student ? the Libraries, The Career Center, Recreation and Swim Centers are all accessible to Hofstra graduates. You?re welcome to attend social events like Homecoming and Reunion Weekends, many of which are planned by alumni.

Rest assured ? Hofstra will play a profound role in your life long after you turn in your cap and gown.

Hofstra?s Career Center is available to assist you as you start your journey toward a successful and rewarding career. Here, dozens of counselors are on hand to help you create your resume, refine your interviewing skills and learn how to locate jobs that match your goals. These advisers will also answer all of your questions as you prepare to make yet another transition ? from college to career.

As you approach the end of your degree program, The Career Center offers a number of services designed to assist you in making plans for life after graduation.

PrideRecruiting

(a.k.a. "Campus Interview Program")

Each year, employers looking to hire Hofstra students for full-time jobs after graduation visit The Career Center. Students in their final academic year (year of graduation) can:

  •             submit resumes to employers through The Career Center?s online recruiting software;
  •             be selected by employers for interviews that take place at Hofstra University;
  •             submit resumes to The Career Center?s online resume book, which is made available to potential employers; and
  •             be a part of The Career Center?s e-mail list to receive up-to-the minute information on job openings year-round.

In addition, Hofstra has recently teamed up with Jobtrak.com, a national Internet job posting site. Jobtrak.com processes and catalogs job opportunities ? both local and national ? for our students and alumni, and makes them available to the Hofstra community 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
