Frank G. Zarb School of Business
Even CEO?s had to start somewhere ? in business, success depends on knowledge -  how you attain it and how you use it.

At the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, we give you an understanding of the business model and the tools necessary for effective leadership. We provide the knowledge required not only to succeed, but also to lead.

In addition to our distinguished faculty (many of whom are established business leaders) the Zarb School utilizes C.V. Starr Hall, a state-of-the-art, high-technology instructional facility that offers students hands-on training in all the hardware and software used by businesses today. We also utilize the McGraw?Hill Companies Business Technology Laboratory, which gives students unparalleled access to financial and investment data, global market updates, economic forecasts and a host of other information.

Want to capitalize on computer knowledge and step into highly demanded positions in corporate information centers, or participate in building information systems? Want to learn how to employ information systems knowledge and experience to provide consulting services for other companies? If so, then our Department of Business Computer Information Systems and Quantitative Methods is for you.

Looking to move in a different direction? The Department of Accounting, Taxation, and Business Law prepares individuals for careers in a variety of settings, including private industry, public accounting, government and not-for-profit organizations.

Our Department of Finance attracts a dynamic and diverse group of students. The Hofstra chapter of the Financial Management Association, a national, award-winning student organization, offers networking opportunities and useful career information through a series of presentations by guest speakers from the corporate world. The Merrill Lynch Center for the Study of International Financial Services and Markets provides students with opportunities to pursue research and participate in workshops, seminars and conferences.

Whoever said, ?If you want something done right, do it yourself,? never studied management. The Department of Management, Entrepreneurship and General Business offers an outstanding state-of-the art curriculum with a focus on decision-making and management in a culturally, politically, socially and demographically diverse environment.

Interested in international jobs ... such as financial managers, import/export managers, foreign subsidiary managers, human resources managers, marketing managers or trade managers?

The Department of Marketing and International Business prepares students for success in each of these areas. Our Marketing and International Business program trains students to establish consumer wants, translate needs into goods or services and eventually sell them in an increasingly aggressive international environment.

Hundreds of Zarb School graduates now work at Fortune 500 companies such as G.E. Capital, Integrated Business Systems, Inc., The Bank of New York, and Procter & Gamble, and still others have gone on to one of the Big Five accounting firms. This kind of success speaks for itself.

At Hofstra?s Merrill Lynch Center, the focus is on international finance. Global economic trends and foreign market research are just some of the areas of study we offer. Others include:

Development of services and products in international and foreign national markets

Financial institutions: Competition and expansion in the global marketplace.

Impact of regulation, technology and country-related factors on the development of financial services and markets

Emergence of other financial markets: Development and function

While we?re on the subject of the global economy, let?s put emphasis on the word global. Zarb School students have an opportunity to study abroad at not one, but two of the premier institutes of business education ? Hong-Ik University in Seoul, South Korea, and Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the most renowned business school in Europe.

The Hofstra-Erasmus Joint International Business Program offers an opportunity for you to study international marketing and financial management in a unique multi-cultural environment. Hofstra students may also choose to study international business at Hong-Ik University in Seoul, South Korea. Here classes are taught in English by Hofstra faculty three days a week, allowing ample time for study and travel. Whether you?re looking for your first exposure to international business, or perhaps just curious as to how the rest of the world operates, Hofstra makes it possible.
