Invest in your future ...

Apply for financial aid to help finance your education.

The first step is to pick up a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from your high school guidance office. Complete and mail the form to the Federal Student Aid Program no earlier than January 1 of your senior year of high school. You may also use the online FAFSA application service at www.fafsa.ed.gov. New York state residents must complete the FAFSA application in order to be considered for state grants such as TAP (Tuition Assistance Program).

Once you have completed the application for admission and have been accepted, you will automatically be considered for all appropriate Hofstra academic scholarships and grants. Upon completion of the FAFSA, you will be considered for any additional need-based Hofstra aid as well as federal and state grants and loans. Please call the Office of Admissions at (516) 463 6700 to request a Hofstra Scholarship and Financial Aid Guide. This guide contains specific information about Hofstra scholarships and grants.

There are many ways to obtain additional financial aid, and it is up to you to seek out funds that are independent from Hofstra, New York state and the federal government. Go to the library, speak with your guidance counselor and explore computer programs designed specifically for this purpose. At Hofstra, we maintain a database Fund Finder, and students are welcome to use this free service at the Office of Admissions.
