On Friday, October 14, Hofstra University and the Alumni Organization will host the annual Alumni Awards Dinner at the Garden City Hotel, to celebrate the personal and professional accomplishments of eight distinguished alumni and friends of Hofstra University.

The Alumnus/Alumna of the Year Award is given by Hofstra University and the Alumni Organization in recognition of exemplary career achievement and/or outstanding service to Hofstra University or the Alumni Organization. Since 1960, only 46 alumni have received this prestigious award.

The Award for Alumni Achievement is given to those Hofstra alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields of endeavor and/or rendered exemplary service to Hofstra University. Only 256 alumni have been honored with this distinction.

Honorary Alumni Award
Horace and Amy Hagedorn
The Honorary Alumnus/Alumna Award is given by Hofstra University and the Alumni Organization to friends of Hofstra in recognition of outstanding service to the University or the Alumni Organization. First awarded in 1977, it has been presented to only 50 individuals.

Young Alumnus Award

The Young Alumni Award was first presented in 1996 by the Hofstra Alumni Organization. It is awarded to alumni who, within 10 years of graduation from Hofstra, have achieved significant accomplishments in professional life or for outstanding service to Hofstra University or the Alumni Organization.
