Each year the Hofstra Pride Club Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual or individuals in recognition of extraordinary dedication, generosity and service to the Hofstra Pride Club and Hofstra Athletics. The Hofstra Pride Club was especially proud to present the 2007 award to two individuals who exemplify Hofstra Pride - Paul Flamm and Guy Truicko '91. The awards were presented at the annual Pride Student-Athlete Awards Banquet in May.
Paul Flamm has been involved with the Hofstra Athletics program since 2000, but his connection to the University dates back to growing up in Baldwin, New York, with Howdy Myers, Jr., son of the legendary Hofstra lacrosse and football coach. Flamm is president of RPC Imports and is currently on the board of directors of the Pride Club.
Guy Truicko has been a member of the Pride Club for 16 years and has served on the executive board since 1993. A 1991 graduate of Hofstra, Truicko was an all-conference selection as a member of the wrestling team.
