*Perry E. Hudson Jr. (B.A.) of St. Augustine, FL, is very proud of his grandson, Colin Cassedy, who is attending Hofstra Law School. Perry was a member of Hofstra's first class. John F. Budd, Jr. (B.A.) of New York, NY, has published his ninth work of nonfiction, The Art of Persuasion, the second edition of his 2002 book,The 12 Immutable Laws of Nonprofit Board Chairmanship. John is founder/chairman of the Omega Group, a 14-year-old boutique public consultancy, and director of the NY chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, where he has been re-elected to its national advisory board for 2006. He writes for the association's magazine,Director's Monthly, is a frequent contributor to business periodicals on management subjects, and has served on Blue Ribbon Commissions...Virginia Ellison (B.S.) of Woodbury, NY, is a reference librarian at Syosset Public Library...

Robert J. Barry (B.S.) of Lake San Marcos, CA, retired as supervisor special agent at the FBI after 30 years, and as director of administration of justice at the University of Southern California after 20 years. He authored one book and more than 20 professional articles. He attained an M.S., M.P.A., and D.P.A. (administration of justice) from the University of Southern California... Lynn Calimafde Broekman (B.A.) of Cumming, GA, worked for Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. in New York and transferred to Booz, Allen & Hamilton International. She worked in the company's Paris office for six years and lived in there for a total of 15 years. She moved to a suburb of Atlanta, GA, in 1992 and has been living there ever since...Franklin S. Glickman (B.A.) of Boynton Beach, FL, has retired. He was a clinical professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, former president of NY State Society of Dermatology, and director of medical education at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. He authored two textbooks and published approximately 40 professional papers. Franklin and wife Leatrice have two sons, Todd and Jeff...

Vincent "Jim" Puglisi (B.A., M.A. '52) of Bethpage, NY, did a stint in the Army Chemical Corps upon graduating from Hofstra. He retired in 1997 as a full professor at Nassau Community College, and continues to teach there part time. For the last 10 years he has been running a short course each January in rain forest ecology. He has also served on the advisory board to the Hofstra Arboretum and helped develop the bird sanctuary on the North Campus. Vincent's wife, the former Marcia Lifland (B.A. '52, M.S. '69), passed away in 1994. Vincent has endowed a scholarship in the History Department in her memory...Barbara Claire Lehman Schiller (B.A.) of New York, NY, is a retired writer, author of the "Man to Man Column" forTime magazine, and retired secondary school English teacher. He serves as director of the Procurement Roundtable, a member of the board of advisors of the George Washington University School of Business, and chairman of the committee to establish an Army Navy Country Club Foundation...H Robert Glavas, Jr. (B.B.A.) of Albertville, MN, is retired after more than 35 years in the transportation and transportation equipment leasing industries, where he held such positions as general manager, vice president sales and marketing, vice president operations and COO. His wife, Eileen Niemczyk, passed away in 2003. They were married for 45 years and have four children and six grandsons. He currently resides in Albertville, MN, enjoying time with his family...William K. Richard (B.A.) of Southampton, NY, is a retired writer and senior editor. Larry Eschen (M.S.Ed.) of Gainesville, GA, has worked for 28 years in the N.Y.S. secondary schools as teacher, coach, and counselor. Previously, he served in the Army Air Corps as well as the U.S. Air Force Reserves. In 1983 Larry was selected to the Bergen County Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame...Martin Steingesser (B.A.) of Portland, ME, has been teaching poetry workshops in the Maine Arts Commission's Artist-in-Residence Programs for 24 years. An award-winning performance poet and author of Brothers of Morning, his poem "Money Medicine Poem" was read by Garrison Keiller on his national public radio program, "The Writer's Almanac," and was posted on his Web site on October 29, 2005...

Dr. Francis Ford Coppola (B.A., H.N.D. '77) is featured in an article in the Romanian English Language Newspaper. He is in Romania directing a film titled Youth Without Youth, after the short story with the same name by Mircea Eliade....Jim FitzGerald (B.A.) of Monroe Twp, NJ, retired in 2000, after more than 30 years in the packaging industry and has been working on his golf game as a member of Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, NJ. He was a teacher in the Three Village and Uniondale school districts as well...Richard J. Rosenthal (B.B.A.) of Playa Del Rey, CA, is a recipient of the National Association of Realtors Distinguished Service Award (DSA) for 2005. This award is considered the highest award bestowed by the association on members who have demonstrated exceptional levels of service and accomplishment at the local, state, and national levels. There have been only 68 recipients of this honor since the award's inception in 1979. Richard will be honored at the Association's annual meeting in San Francisco in October...

Dr. James Larocca (B.A., H.N.D. She created the games in an effort to encourage enthusiasm about maintaining and improving physical fitness to stave off the perceived effects of aging. She was named the New York State Senate 2004 Woman of Distinction, has received the Suffolk Senior Citizen of the Year Award, the Suffolk County Community Service Award, the Woman of the Year Award, was voted Ms. Senior Long Island, and was given a 25-year recognition from the American Cancer Society for her volunteer work. Mary Wefer White (M.A.) of Carrollton, GA, was associate professor of English at Lees-McRae College, where she was also special assistant to the president for communications, honors program director, coordinator of independent studies, faculty athletics representative, and chair of honors and awards. She represented the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference on the NCAA Division II Management Council, and served on other NCAA committees. After 26 years at Lees-McRae, she was awarded an honorary doctor of humanities - the only faculty member ever to be so honored. She left Lees-McRae to become coordinator of advancement programs at the University of West Georgia...

'74) of Clifton, NJ, is director of an inclusive preschool in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, and is an adjunct professor in special education at Kean University in NJ. *Dr. Elizabeth Carll (M.A., Ph.D. '76, '78) of Centerport, NY, is vice president of the Communications Coordination Committee for the United Nations (CCC/UN). Elizabeth is a clinical and consulting psychologist in private practice in Huntington and Centerport, where she works with individuals and families. She developed a variety of disaster intervention programs, and founded the Disaster/Crisis Response Network of the New York State Psychological Association. Currently, she chairs the Crisis Response Committee of the International Division of the American Psychological Association...Frank Carollo (B.S.) of Ithaca, NY, is director of marketing and communications at Cornell University. He moved to Ithaca in spring 2005 with wife Mary Ellen and his parents...Julie-Lynn Halston (B.A.) hosted "Play on Broadway," the first Broadway game show, on Sunday, October 16, 2005. The show was a one-of-a-kind, fully interactive event in which Broadway celebrities played alongside audience members for chances to win fabulous prizes...Robert Mauro (B.A.) of Levittown, NY, wrote his autobiography, Sucking Air, Doing Wheelies: Memoirs of a Fifties Polio Survivor. It was published in August 2005, on the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the Salk polio vaccine. Several chapters mention his years at Hofstra. Robert was one of the students who helped make the campus accessible to those with disabilities. Richard Bocchieri (P.D.I.P.) of West Islip, NY, retired in 2002 as a guidance counselor at Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School. Since then, Richard is working full time as an associate broker at Segal-Riese Realtors Inc., in West Islip. He sells and rents real estate in the towns of Islip and Babylon...Stephen Bongiovi (M.A.) of Seaford, NY, was named 2006 New York State Teacher of the Year by the Department of Education of New York state. He will become New York state's entry into the National Teacher of the Year competition and will speak at many venues, including colleges and universities across the state. Stephen is currently the English Department chairperson at Seaford High School, where he has been teaching for 33 years...Kimberly A. Corbin (B.A.) of New York, NY, is director of continuing medical education at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and also sings in cabaret venues in New York.
