Lawrence Herbert (B.A., HND ’89) of Palm Beach, FL, has sold Pantone, Inc., the company he founded in 1963, and retired. Pantone is recognized as the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industry. He has been the creative force behind developing a variety of color systems that have become the standards for the global communication of color in the printing, packaging, graphic arts, paint, plastics, coatings, computer, film, video, textiles and fashion industries. Mr. Herbert earned an honorary doctorate from Hofstra University as well as an Alumni Achievement Award. He also received the George M.
