Do you realize what a potent force Hofstra alumni are?

We are an organization with more than 107,000 members spread throughout all 50 U.S. states and in more than 100 countries.

Think how much impact we could have if:

• We could serve as a job resource for one another.
• We could recruit more students.
• We all got involved with one aspect of the University.

Speaking of impact … Soon you will learn about some significant changes being implemented by your Alumni Organization. We will be redesigning ways in which you can get involved — based on your requests and the needs of the University — e.g., career networking, GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade), regional chapters, etc.

In the meantime, I ask you to consider the following ways to show your support and connection to Hofstra:

• Contribute to The Fund for Hofstra University. While we want you to be as generous as possible, it is even more important that you make a gift. National organizations and publications like U.S. News & World Report track and compare the annual participation rates of alumni donors. We need everyone to contribute because this level of participation enhances Hofstra’s national reputation and sends the message that our alumni are highly satisfied with their Hofstra education.
• Mark your calendars and plan to attend Homecoming ’07 on October 4-6. There will be activities to attract alumni of all ages and interests.
• Send news about yourself for the next “Classnotes” section of Hofstra Magazine. We are a family — albeit a large one — and we want to know how and what you are doing.
• Volunteer for Hofstra networking activities within your geographic region or school/college. We can all help Hofstra University by helping each other.
