Reunion '08: Transportation
Airports:
LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport are located just 30 minutes from Hofstra. Either can be reached by train, bus, taxi or van.
Buses:
Hempstead has both local and inter-city bus terminals. Charter and school buses may be rented for group excursions. Rentals are subject to availability and should be prearranged whenever possible. Please contact the Hospitality Center for further information at (516) 463-6925.
Trains:
Both the Hempstead and Mineola Stations of the Long Island Rail Road are located within minutes of Hofstra. The LIRR provides regular commuter service to and from New York City’s Pennsylvania Station. For train information, contact the LIRR Nassau Office at (516) 822-5477 or stop by the Hospitality Center, 112 Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, for train schedules.
Taxi Services:
Hofstra is serviced by several taxi cab companies. Estimated rates to the airports are $30 for one passenger, plus $4 for each additional passenger. Fares to and from the Hempstead and Mineola LIRR stations range from $5 to $7.
