The Senior Class Challenge is a student-led campaign to raise money for The Fund for Hofstra University. This longstanding tradition invites seniors to give back to Hofstra in support of undergraduate education. Gifts help provide financial aid to current and future students, fund student activities, support faculty, and improve life at Hofstra. This is not just a senior event - it's a commitment that begins a lifetime of involvement with Hofstra, and is the first step in the transition from student to alumnus/a.

The Senior Class Challenge is designed as a five-year pledge – The Pledge to Hofstra. The first gift of $20.09 symbolizes the class’s year of graduation. Each year thereafter, graduates are asked to increase their gift to Hofstra by $10 increments. The Pledge to Hofstra entitles participants to honorary membership in the Hofstra Society Lion’s Circle for ALL FIVE YEARS! Members receive the following benefits:

  • Invitations to special events held throughout the year where you can network with other Society members
  • Recognition in the President’s Annual Report
  • Invitation to the annual Hofstra Society cocktail reception
  • An Alumni Card which provides access to certain Hofstra facilities for one full year from the date of your gift each year

The 2009 Senior Class Challenge is underway! This year, the class goal is to raise more than $4,000 in cash and pledges toward The Pledge to Hofstra; collect numerous gifts of $20.09 in honor of the year of graduation; and reach at least 15 percent Senior Class participation.
