First production PCA-2 to receive Aircraft Type Certificate (ATC
#410) on April 2, 1931 was purchased by Detroit News which owned
Radio Station WWJ. As William E. Scripps already owned a fixed-wing
aircraft, the Autogiro was marked No. 2. The PCA-2 is on display
in the Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, Michigan.

1931 was purchased by Detroit News which owned Radio Station WWJ.
As William E. Scripps already owned a fixed-wing aircraft, the Autogiro
was marked No. 2. The PCA-2 is on display in the Henry Ford Museum,
Dearborn, Michigan. |

James G. Jim Ray taking off from a parking lot on the
east side of the Capitol Building in Washington DC to carry Senator
Hiram Bingham to Burning Tree Country Club to play golf. Ray had
to climb out over the Senate Office Building to make the ten-minute
trip in an effective demonstration of the aircrafts usefulness
the trip usually took an hour by car.
