Redeveloping Long Island in the 21st Century

The Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra held its inaugural conference “Redeveloping Long Island in the 21st Century” in the fall of 2006. The Institute welcomed a crowd of over 350 people as it launched its first of what promises to be many successful events to discuss issues concerning the real estate industry on Long Island. The conference included ten panelists who represent some of the most outstanding and prestigious members of the Long Island real estate community. Marshall Tracht, Vice Dean of the Law School and Robert Campbell, Associate Professor of Finance, Frank G. Zarb School of Business, both experts in real estate, served as moderators for the panels. Led by keynote speaker Scott Rechler, then Chief Executive Officer of Reckson Associates Realty Corp., the panel discussed the concerns and issues facing Long Island’s growth and development.
