The Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies, in cooperation with Community Development Corporation and The Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra University, hosted a free conference titled Success and Opportunities in a Down Market on November 17, 2009 from 8 – 10:30 a.m. at the Hofstra University Club, David S. Mack Hall, North Campus. NeighborWorks® America sponsored the event. The event started with a welcome by Deborah Boatright, Northeast District Director of NeighborWorks® America and the moderator was Marianne Garvin, President & CEO of Community Development Corporation of Long Island. The panelists included: Frank DellAccio, Jr., Partner, Century 21 AA Realty; Donald M. Eversoll, President, Eversoll Associates; Joseph Farkas, President, Metropolitan Realty Associates LLC; Chris Giamo, Metro President, TD Bank; Kirk Kordeleski, President & CEO, Bethpage Federal Credit Union; and David Pennetta, Executive Vice President, Oxford & Simpson Realty, Inc. The discussion centered on market values and financing options in both the residential and commercial sectors currently and in the near future.
