Free Land Use Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials

The Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies in collaboration with Hofstra School of Law and The Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra University hosted a FREE Land Use Training Program for municipal planning and zoning officials on October 4, 2010 from 5:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hofstra University Club, David S. Mack Hall, North Campus. The program provided 3.5 CLE credits and l CLE legal ethics credit in professional practice for non-transitional attorneys. The course in intended to fulfill the New York state training requirement for municipal planning and zoning officials. Ashira Ostrow, Associate Professor of Law at Hofstra University School of Law acted as moderator.
The program included presentations in Recent Developments in Zoning Law by Benjamin Weinstock,Esq., Partner Ruskin, Moscou, Faltischek, P.C; Sustaining Healthy Communities by Maria Torroella Carney, M.D., FACP, Commissioner, Nassau County Department of Health; Places to Grow: An Analysis of the Potential For Transit-Accessible Housing In Long Island’s Downtowns and Station Areas by Ann Golub, Rauch Foundation, Director, Long Island Index, Christopher Jones and Rob Lane of Regional Plan Associagtion; and An Ethics Update by Steven G. Leventhal, Esq., C.P.A., Partner, Leventhal & Sliney, LLP.
