April 27 - May 16, 2003
Emily Lowe Gallery

Dan Devine: "Concepts or our relationship to nature. Space and place preoccupy my artwork. I continue my investigation of psychological space in sculpture. Through a series of works that focus on our changed relationship to space. Technological advancements such as the computer, widespread use of the internet, digital imaging, and the current media explosion are impacting our culture in remarkable ways. As our dependency on technological accelerates, our preception of our relationship to space must transform."
One of Dan Devine's cast concrete sculptures, The Secret of Las Meninas, is part of the Hofstra Museum sculpture garden. Additional information about Dan Devine's work is available online at the Pierogi 2000 website.
