Confidentiality Policy

Hofstra University regards confidentiality of information to be of the utmost importance. Student Counseling Services (SCS) complies with federal, state and local laws regarding confidentiality, as well as the University's FERPA, Privacy and Confidentiality Agreement and Security policies, which are available on the University's website. SCS will take every reasonable precaution to protect your privacy. The identity of those using SCS, along with the personally identifiable disclosures made in the context of the counseling relationship, will be treated as confidential. Confidential information will not be shared with parties outside of SCS without your written consent, except as the law requires.
