You may pick up your credentials and/or truck parking placards in the Multipurpose Room at Hofstra University's Student Center.
The credentialing center will be open:
Saturday, October 11: Limited access for truck parking only
Sunday, October 12: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. (9 a.m. - 2 p.m.: truck parking early)
Monday, October 13: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday, October 14: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday, October 15: 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
You may either:
1) take the shuttle bus directly from the Mitchel Field/Omni Reckson parking facility (100 Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Garden City, NY 11530) (where all media and vendor parking is from October 9 - 16, see directions below), or
2) go directly to the Student Center's temporary parking lot (directions below), pick up your credentials, and then drive to the Mitchel Field parking facility. (Any car left in temporary parking for longer than 1 hour will be towed.)
Shuttles will be available beginning Thursday, October 9 to accommodate vendors and early arrivals.
If you have taken Hofstra's train station shuttle (the "Blue Beetle") you will be dropped off at a student gate on Oak Street. Ask the Public Safety Officer on duty how to walk to the Credentialing Center, it will be a few hundred yards from the gate.
If you are bringing a production or satellite truck: your order will be checked at this point to ensure you have a parking space pre-ordered, or you may be required to make arrangements before getting a spot.
If your organization needs to drop off equipment, your truck may get a temporary access pass. The truck must stop at the Credentialing Center to obtain a temporary truck permit. Please call 516-463-6170 to make arrangements.
Covering student events: If you are a member of the press and do not have the official debate site credential, you are still welcome to cover the University or student activities outside the debate site. You need to obtain Hofstra press credentials (good only for areas outside the debate site) and a parking placard in the satellite media/information desk, also in the Student Center (East Plaza Room). If you have official debate credentials, it is not necessary to get the Hofstra-issued credential.
From the Meadowbrook, exit M4W on Hempstead Turnpike. At the third light, enter Hofstra University's main entrance. Make a left into the temporary parking lot between our Student Center and Bill of Rights Residence Hall. Credentialing will be in the Multipurpose Room in the Student Center. After you receive your credentials, you must park at the Mitchel Field parking facility and take the shuttle bus to the debate site.
From Sunday through Tuesday, all shuttles will be making stops at the Student Center for credentialing as well as the Media Filing Center, about ¼ mile away.
Once you pick up your credentials, you can access the debate site.
