CTSE English Editing Consultant

The Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence is offering editing services for English grammar and usage to faculty for their academic manuscripts.

Carol Porr, the CTSE's English Editing Consultant, graduated summa cum laude from Hofstra University in 1991 with a BA in English. She received an MA with distinction from Hofstra in 1995. She has been teaching composition as an adjunct instructor in Hofstra's English Department since 1996, and she is a tutor in the Writing Center. Professor Porr teaches English 102, a course in grammar and usage. From 1988 through 1991 she served as editorial associate for Twentieth Century Literature, a Hofstra University publication. Along with her teaching responsibilities, she has been working at Hofstra University on a full-time basis as assistant to the director of the composition program since 1991.

Generally, faculty can expect a one-week turn around for manuscripts submitted for editing. For specific arrangements, contact Professor Porr at 463-5252 or engcjp@hofstra.edu. Submit manuscripts in hard copy to Professor Porr at 208 Calkins.
