CTSE Event

The Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence and The Hofstra University Library invite all faculty to a Workshop

Using Zotero

Zotero is a free, web-based bibliographic management tool that can be used instead of Endnote. It allows the user to save citations and articles and create reference lists. It allows the user to search the text of all saved articles and other materials. Zotero is accessible from any computer and very easy to use.

Amy Catalano, Assistant Professor of Library Services, will demonstrate how to use Zotero and explain how it can facilitate the work of faculty in every discipline.

Monday, March 26
1:00 - 2:20 p.m.
108 Axinn Library

OR

Wednesday, April 18
11:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
108 Axinn Library

Workshop attendees may just watch the demonstration or they may bring their own laptops.

If you are bringing your own laptop, before the workshop, visit the Zotero site at http://www.zotero.org , register to create an account and download the program to your computer. If, after clicking on the big red Download button, you choose Firefox, you will receive automatic alerts whenever there are updates. You can also download plug-ins for Zotero to work with Microsoft Word. Its use will be explained at the workshop.

A light lunch will be served.

We understand that your teaching schedule may require that you arrive late or leave early.
Please RSVP to Jeanne Racioppi at 463-6221 or via e-mail by Wednesday, March 21 for the March program or by Friday, April 13 for the April program.
