CTSE Event

The Center for Teaching and Scholarly Excellence and The Hofstra University Library invite all faculty to a Workshop:

Using Audiovisual Materials in Your Classes

Wednesday, November 11, 2009
11:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
108 Axinn Library

This workshop is designed to familiarize faculty with the library’s electronic and traditional audiovisual resources for use in teaching. The Library has recently licensed the Films on Demand database, a group of more than 5000 streaming videos from Films for the Humanities and Sciences. The database is easy to use, and the content can be made accessible to students via Blackboard for course assignments. Faculty can assign video to be viewed outside of the classroom setting, and then have students discuss the video content in Blackboard or in class. The use of audiovisual material in the context of physical and online classrooms will be discussed. Questions will be invited throughout the program.

Workshop Facilitator: Sarah McCleskey, Head of Access Services and Acting Director of Film and Media Library

Lunch will be served.

We understand that your teaching schedule may require that you arrive late or leave early.
