Membership Application Information

CTSE members initiate and help plan activities and programs that foster teaching, learning, and scholarly excellence at Hofstra. In the spring semester the Provost announces a call for applications for new members who serve for a three-year term starting the following fall semester. All full-time Hofstra faculty are eligible.

An application should consist of:

  • a one- or two-page statement indicating activities that the applicant would engage in as a member of the Center; [This is the most important part of the application. For more information about the Center, its goals, and its activities, click on the relevant Web pages. Most of the Center's activities are initiated and planned by its members.]
  • a resume focusing on teaching experience (including courses taught as well as courses developed) and scholarly productivity
  • evidence of past teaching effectiveness as demonstrated by course and teacher ratings and other data, or evidence of past research productivity as evidenced by publications, presentations, and other data.

A committee of Center members reads the applications and makes recommendations to the Provost about Center memberships.

Applications should be addressed to Professor Susan Martin, CTSE Director, 200 West Library Wing. The date for application submission will appear in the Provost's call.
