Scientific and technological problems affect people, businesses and societies around the world. Solutions to these problems and the ethical issues that arise from the development of new technologies necessarily require problem-solving techniques that are forged through collaborations between scientists, educators and the public at large. Industry relies heavily on the rigorous preparation of research scientists, and a rapidly changing technological landscape requires an informed citizenry.
The IDEAS Institute is located in the newly renovated Hagedorn Hall, a state-of-the art technology facility on Hofstra's campus, which serves as the home of the School of Education, Health and Human Services. Hofstra University's SOEHHS enjoys a strong national reputation as a leader in the preparation of future educators.
