Bio

Suzanne Berman teaches courses in public relations research, public relations copywriting, case studies and media relations. She has been a public relations professional for over 20 years working for some of the largest organizations world-wide including AT&T where she held a number of positions including International Media Relations Director. More recently she has focused her public relations involvements on nonprofit organizations directing the public relations efforts of Central Park's 150th anniversary and working with other nonprofit groups helping them with issues of diversity outreach and other multicultural programs.

Professor Berman is a member of the Association of Education in Journalism, and Mass Communication, New York State Communication Association and the Public Relations Society of America and has written for PRSA's publications Tactics. Her research interests include the impact of convergence and interactive-based technologies on the discipline of public relations and the impact of immigration and globalization on health information campaigns.

Professor Berman is faculty advisor to the department's public relations newsletter, We Are Comm. and co-advisor to the Public Relations Student Society of America, Hofstra Chapter.
