Bio:

Dr. Bruce Charnov received a B.A. from the University of Michigan, an M.A. and rabbinical ordination from the Graduate School of the Jewish Theological Seminary, an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Ph.D. in human behavior specializing in clinical and organizational psychology from the United States International University. Dr. Charnov has studied with such distinguished scholars as Carl Rogers, Victor Frankl, Albert Ellis and the late Sidney Jourard. He specialized in applications of humanistic psychology within large organizations. He is a 1990 graduate of the Hofstra University School of Law, having received a J.D. with distinction and an award for excellence in labor law, and was Associate Editor of the Hofstra Law Review. He is a member of the federal and New York State bars.

His dissertation concerns enculturation in large organizations, specifically recruitment and adjustment in the United States military; he has extended his research to include the modern corporation. Having authored and co-authored articles in the areas of labor law and trends in arbitration, Dr. Charnov has co-authored books titled Management (second edition published by Barron's; also currently published in Portuguese, Chinese, and Greek) and has recently completed the third edition, Ethical Dilemmas of the Academic Profession (published by Charles C. Thomas, Inc.), Global Corporate Intelligence, and Managing People in Today's Law Firm: The Human Resources Key to Survival (published by Quorum Books). He also had an article published dealing with labor and bankruptcy law in the fall 1989 Syracuse Law Review, and an article dealing with the legal and social aspects of oil pollution in Environmental Law. His book From Autogiro to Gyroplane: The Amazing Survival of an Aviation Technology was published by Praeger Publishers in 2003. He is widely consulted by museums and aviation historians and has published over 80 articles on Autogiro/gyroplane history. He served as a research proposal reviewer for NASA and is currently the historical editor for ROTOCRAFT MAGAZINE.

Dr. Charnov retired in 1998 as a captain in the Naval Reserve and received the Meritorious Service Medal from the President of the United States. During the Gulf War he served as the senior reserve chaplain in Naples, Italy.

Dr. Charnov has lived and worked in Israel, Japan, Italy and Spain.
