Bio:
Dean Mathur received a B.Sc. And an M.Sc. from the University of Calcutta and the University of Delhi, respectively, and a Postgraduate Diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India. He received a Ph.D. with a marketing major from Georgia State University.
Dean Mathur's industry experience includes nearly nine years in various marketing positions in Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., in India.
Dean Mathur is the recipient of Georgia State University's Teaching Excellence Award for 1990-91. A paper that he co-authored received the Track Award for Best Paper at the Academy of Marketing Science Conference in 1990.
Dean Mathur's current research interests include consumer behavior, research methodology and cross-cultural consumer behavior/managerial issues. He has co-authored two books titled The Maturing Marketplace (published by Quorum Books), and Baby Boomers and Their Parents: Surprising Findings About Their Lifestyles and Well-Being (Published by Paramount Publishing). He has also authored or co-authored over 60 papers that have been published in journals, such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Services Marketing, and Psychology and Marketing, as well as proceedings of various national and international conferences.
Dean Mathur is actively involved in community and professional activities. He has lectured several times at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India, and is fluent in Hindi and Bengali. He is presently involved in cross-cultural studies of consumer preferences/choices and managerial styles.
Dean Mathur is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research and the Academy of Marketing Science.
