Bio:
Dr. Sherman holds a B.A. from Brooklyn College, an M.B.A. from Hofstra University, an M.A. from The City University of New York and a Ph.D. in business with a specialization in consumer behavior/marketing from The City University of New York.
Dr. Sherman's professional interests include consumer behavior, political marketing, market research, retailing, new media technologies and e-commerce, direct marketing and quality of life. She is a consultant on a variety of marketing areas, with recent focus on elderly markets and direct marketing.
She has co-authored several books, including Readings in Consumer Behavior, and has co-authored several articles in the fields of marketing, political marketing, consumer behavior, e-commerce, direct marketing and retailing, which have appeared in leading journals and proceedings. Dr. Sherman has presented papers on these topics at various professional conferences both nationally and internationally in South America, Australia and Europe.
Dr. Sherman conducts monthly public opinion telephone polls for Cablevision's News 12 on attitudes of Long Island residents regarding a variety of issues.
Dr. Sherman is a member of several professional associations, including the American Marketing Association, the Academy of Marketing Science, the Direct Marketing New York Education Committee, the Association of Consumer Research, the American Collegiate Retail Association, the International Society for Quality of Life Studies and the American Association of University Women.
