Bio

A former student of American poet Allen Ginsberg, Rob Plath has gone on to publish hundreds of poems in over 140 different magazines and journals. His work has appeared not only in the U.S. but also in places such as the England, Scotland, Poland, India, and Canada . He currently has six collections of poetry out: Ashtrays and Bulls (Liquid Paper Press 2003), An IV Bag of Bile (Scintillating Publications 2007), Whiskey and Clay (Pudding House Publications 2008), Squeezing Blood From The Alphabet (Erbacce Press 2008), Tapping Ashes in the Dark (Lummox Press 2008), and There's A Little Hobo In My Heart Who Forever Gives The Finger To Humanity (Deadbeat Press 2008). Rob also has a large 200-page book coming out in early 2009 from Epic Rites Press called A Bellyful of Anarchy Signs. In 2002, Rob was invited to record two poems on a Jack Kerouac spoken word/music tribute CD called Northport Celebrates Jack, which includes world-famous musician David Amram on all its tracks. Rob has been a featured reader at places such as the Greenwich Village Bistro and the Bowery Poetry Club. Last summer he was a featured reader at The Connecticut Beat Festival in Middletown, Connecticut. Besides the large collection slated for 2009, Rob has several more smaller collections of poetry coming out next year as well, and as always he continues to write at least two poems per day.
