Bio:

Dr. Evans received a B.A. from Queens College, an M.B.A. from Bernard M. Baruch College of The City University of New York, and a Ph.D. specializing in marketing and public policy from The City University of New York.

Dr. Evans has worked for a Fortune 500 company, owned a mail order business and served as a consultant for many organizations.

Dr. Evans' professional interests are in marketing strategy, retailing and marketing research. He is co-author of several books, including Marketing (published in U.S., Canadian, Russian and online editions), Retail Management and Paintco (a computer simulation). He is editor of a number of books, including Consumerism in the United States and The Evolution of Education in Collegiate Schools of Business. Dr. Evans has also written many articles appearing in various academic and professional publications. He serves on four editorial boards: Industrial Marketing Management, Internet Research, the Journal of Marketing Management and Marketing Education Review. He was co-chair of the 1990 American Marketing Association Microcomputers in Education Conference, co-chair of the 1995 American Marketing Association Faculty Consortium and co-chair of the 2000 Academy of Marketing Science/American Collegiate Retailing Association triennial conference. He is also co-founder of the American Marketing Association Special Interest Group in Retailing and Retail Management.

At Hofstra Dr. Evans has been honored as a faculty inductee in Beta Gamma Sigma and has received three Dean's Awards and the School of Business Faculty Distinguished Service Award. He is also a past recipient of the Teacher of the Year award by the M.B.A. Association. He has been the Associate Dean, Department Chairperson, Director of the M.B.A. Program, and Co-director of the Business Research Institute and Retail Management Institute. Before coming to Hofstra, Dr. Evans taught at Baruch College and New York University. He is listed in Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in America.
