Bio:

Dr. James earned a B.S. in geography at McGill University, an M.S. in experimental psychology at Purdue University, an M.S. in computer science from Pace University, and a Ph.D. in marketing at the Krannert Graduate School of Management of Purdue University.

Dr. James' research interests are primarily in the fields of advertising and strategic management. He has more than 80 publications, including articles in the Journal of Marketing Research, the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Global Marketing, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Decision Sciences, the Journal of Retailing, the Journal of Consumer Affairs, Current Issues & Research in Advertising, the Journal of Advertising Research and the International Marketing Review.

Prior to joining the Hofstra faculty, Dr. James taught for eight years at the University of Alabama and for two years at Memphis State University. He was also a visiting professor at Cunningham & Walsh, Inc., during the summer of 1983.

Dr. James is a member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the honor society in the computing sciences. He has lived on Bahrain Island and the Canary Islands, and in England and Canada.

Dr. James received the 1998/99 Hofstra University Distinguished Teaching Award.
