Bio:

Violinist Alexander Sharpe is an active performer and teacher in the New York area. In addition to performing with the Hofstra String Quartet, he is a member of the Orchestras of the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola and the Voices of Ascension, and has performed with the orchestras of the National Chorale, the Stamford Symphony, and the Gotham City Orchestra. In addition, he toured the Puglia region of Italy performing as a soloist in the concert series Camerata Musicale Salentina and has appeared as a soloist with the Hofstra Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Sharpe has been teaching at Hofstra University since 1997, and is also a member of the faculty at New York University. Mr. Sharpe received his Bachelor of Music from the Mannes College of Music, his Master of Music from The Juilliard School and his Doctor of Musical Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His principal teachers have included Sally Thomas, Lazar Gosman, and Ann Setzer
