Bio:
Dr. Jinyan Fan received a B.S. in psychology in 1994 and an M.A. in industrial psychology in 1997, both from East China Normal University (Shanghai, China). He then earned a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from The Ohio State University in 2004. Dr. Fan is currently an assistant professor, with primary teaching responsibilities in the graduate studies area of industrial/organizational psychology. His research interests are in the domains of newcomer orientation and socialization, cross-cultural adjustment and training, work motivation, personnel selection, and methodological issues. He is particularly interested in interventions in organizational contexts and the use of longitudinal designs to assess the efficacy and the effectiveness of interventions. His work has appeared in the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of Vocational Behavior.
