Dr. Ohr, an Associate Professor with primary responsibility in the Ph.D. Program in Combined Clinical and School Psychology, has been a faculty member in the Psychology Department at Hofstra University since January 1992. Prior to that she served as the Coordinator of the Infant and Toddler Early Intervention Assessment Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center-Schneider Children's Hospital.
Her expertise is in the area of early childhood development. In this capacity she has been a consultant for the Hofstra Child Care Institute, conducting observations, assessments and interventions with children and parents. She has also provided services to individuals of all ages at the Hofstra University Psychological Evaluation and Research Center as a therapy/assessment supervisor for Ph.D. students.
Since receiving her Ph.D. in 1990 Dr. Ohr has had 10 articles published in refereed psychology journals and has pubished two book chapters. The bulk of this work is focused in her specialty, early childhood development. She has also made 24 presentations at professional conferences and belongs to a number of professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, Eastern Psychological Association, National Association of School Psychologists, International Society of Infant Studies, and Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy.
