Bio:
Dr. Paknejad received his M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees, specializing in management planning systems, from the City University of New York Graduate School. He also holds an M.B.A. in management information systems/operations research, an M.B.A. in production management, and a B.S. in insurance/economics.
Before joining the Hofstra faculty, Dr. Paknejad taught at Bernard M. Baruch College. Over the years, he has taught a wide spectrum of graduate and undergraduate courses in business policy, operations management, management science, information systems, and statistics.
Dr. Paknejad is the co-author of many articles published in the International Journal of Production Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Omega (the international journal of management science), Zeitschrift Für Operations Research (ZOR Methods & Models of Operations Research), Mathematical Methods of Operations Research, Journal of Applied Mathematics and Decision Sciences, and other journals. He is also the co-author of a book chapter and numerous articles, including several award-winning and nominated finalist papers, published in various international, national, and regional refereed proceedings.
Dr. Paknejad is an active member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) and has presented numerous papers at various national and regional conferences. Dr. Paknejad’s services to the professional community include: paper reviewer, paper discussant, session chair, topic table chair, track co-chair, student liaison, and campus representative. He was the coordinator of Doctoral Student/New Faculty Consortia for the 1994 and 2003 NEDSI meetings, held the position of the vice president of proceedings of NEDSI for two years, and served as the editor for the 1997 and 1998 NEDSI proceedings. He has also served as a member of the board of directors of NEDSI for several terms.
Dr. Paknejad is the recipient of several prestigious teaching, research, and professional service awards and recognitions.
