Vicente Lledó-Guillem’s main areas of research are Romance Philology, Medieval Catalan and Spanish Literature and Golden Age Spanish Literature. He is interested in language ideology, particularly the relationship between language, power, politics and identity. He focuses on the interaction of History of Language and Postmodernism. He has also paid particular attention to Neoplatonism in literature.
Professor Lledó-Guillem has recently published Literatura o imperio: la construcción de las lenguas castellana y catalana en la España renacentista (Juan de la Cuesta—Hispanic Monographs, 2008). He is also the author of several articles in scholarly journals such as Hispanófila, Neophilologus, Romanistisches Jahrbuch, Calíope, eHumanista and Bulletin of Hispanic Studies.
