Personal Data
I now serve as the first Director of Hofstra’s Center for Civic Engagement, a university-based institute started in 2007. The Center is designed to strengthen democratic values by encouraging students to actively participate as knowledgeable citizens in their campus, local, state, national and global communities.
In 2005, I became one of six members of the Rose Series editorial collective. The Rose Series is a social policy-focused book series sponsored by the American Sociological Association and published by Russell Sage.
I am currently working on a book for undergraduate course use about issue framing and its consequences on politics, policy and social life.
