Bio:

Dr. Soliman earned a B.S. in engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo; and an M.B.A. with a major in finance from Murray State University; and a Ph.D. in management information systems from Fogelman College of Business and Economics, The University of Memphis. His dissertation is titled Determining the Factors Affecting the Adoption Decision of Internet-Based Interorganizational Information Systems.

Prior to joining the Hofstra faculty, Dr. Soliman taught for two years at The University of Memphis and held a researcher position at FedEx Center for Cycle Time Research, where he was involved in consulting and research in the area of cycle time reduction. Prior to that, Dr. Soliman worked and consulted for 12 years for several national and international companies. His research efforts have been published in academic journals, including Information & Management and the Journal of Management Systems. In addition, his articles have appeared in several national and international conference proceedings, including those of the Information Resources Management Association International Conference and the Fifth AIS Americas Conference on Information Systems in 1999, and The Annual Conference of the Association of Management and the Fourth AIS Americas Conference on Information Systems in 1998.

In 1998 Dr. Soliman was featured in an article in Economic Edge magazine about bright youth in the Tennessee Valley. He received an All-American Scholar Award in 1992 for academic achievement. He was also recognized for his community service in 1991.
