Bio: Constantine Alexandrakis received his doctoral degree in Economics at Clark University. Before joining Hofstra in 2004 he held the position of Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and has also held a Visiting Lecturer position at Emory University. He teaches introductory courses in economics and intermediate macroeconomics, and on occasion Economic Growth, and Monetary Theory. Dr. Alexandrakis has published in the Review of Development Economics and has contributed a chapter to the collective volume: The Elgar Companion to Public Economics: Empirical Public Economics. His current research focuses on the impact of R&D investment on interest rates, the impact of population growth and R&D investment on technological innovation, and the relationship between freedom and economic performance in Latin America.
