Degrees: MFA, 1988, Bard Coll
Bio:
During the 20th century, sculpture has expanded into a large and exciting field. The traditional practices of carving and casting have been joined by a variety of mediums and techniques including construction, earth art and site-specific installation. It is my goal to explore the diverse mediums, materials and concepts of this widening field, while encouraging the growth of solid three-dimensional thinking skills. Through projects developed within the context of art history and design, students will experience the tools and methods of the professional sculptor, with emphasis on the relationship between concept, technique and material.
