Bio:

Carole L. Jurkiewicz earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and in philosophy and an M.P.A. in organizational behavior from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  Her undergraduate degree in psychology was attained at the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining the Hofstra faculty, Dr. Jurkiewicz held professorships at Louisiana State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and was an instructor and lecturer at the University of Kansas, University of Missouri, Duke University, U.S. Naval Academy, Command and General Staff College, and Ottawa University.  She brings to her academic career many years as an executive in private and nonprofit organizations, a consultant to a wide range of organizations, and an active volunteer and board member for a number of nonprofits.

Her research and teaching focuses on organizational performance as a function of employee ethicality and organizational structure. She has published more than 100 books, scholarly articles, and chapters in the areas of organizational and individual performance, ethics, power, and leadership.  She serves on the editorial and review boards of a number of scholarly journals, has served as national chairman of professional ethics associations, chaired international conferences, and has received leadership awards for her service both nationally and internationally.

Additionally, she has delivered more than 80 scholarly presentations to national and international audiences, has appeared in print and television media, and has been listed in Who’s Who since 2008.
