Bio:

Professor Schain obtained a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in education from Lehman College. In addition, she was granted an M.B.A. from Iona College and is a certified public accountant.

Before coming to Hofstra, Professor Schain had both accounting and teaching experience. She was an accountant with the firm of Ernst and Whinney. Her teaching experience ranged from grade school level in the Bronx, New York, to college level at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.

Professor Schain has taught CPA Review courses for Fox Gearty, Dauberman & Chaykin, Conviser Duffy and Becker. She has been a contributing author for the Kaplan CPA Review material and has helped develop software to accompany both financial and managerial textbooks. Professor Schain currently writes a column for the General Ledger, a newsletter published by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. She also serves as a consultant to Industrial Realty Group, LLC, and its subsidiaries.

Professor Schain is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
