Bio:

Dr. Lyn received a B.S. in commerce with a major in accounting from St. Theresa's College in Manila, Philippines, and an M.B.A. from St. John's University. She earned a Ph.D. in finance at Bernard M. Baruch College of The City University of New York and was awarded the Oscar Lasdon Award for the best dissertation.

Dr. Lyn has been a finance officer at the United Nations in New York and in Dacca, Bangladesh, and assistant to the controller at Integrated Resources, Inc. She was a consultant and faculty intern at Smith Barney Shearson. Dr. Lyn has done consulting work for various companies.

Dr. Lyn has been editor-in-chief of Corporate Finance Review. She also served as the Co-Director of the Merrill Lynch Center for the Study of International Financial Services and Markets at Hofstra.

Dr. Lyn's areas of specialization include mergers and acquisitions, international finance, agency theory, capital structure and gender issues in finance. She has had articles published in such journals as the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Advances in Taxation, Advances in Working Capital Management and other refereed journals. Dr. Lyn has presented papers at finance conferences, and as a visiting scholar, she has given seminars and taught courses at universities and institutions here and abroad. Over the years she has served as a panelist and speaker at international and national conferences, and as a reviewer of manuscripts for international and national journals.

Dr. Lyn is a member of the American Finance Association, the Eastern Finance Association, the Midwest Finance Association, the Financial Management Association, the Academy of International Business and the American Association of University Women. She serves on the board of directors of Global ShareResource Foundation and the Nassau Educators' Federal Credit Union. She is also on the Dean's Advisory Council of the University of the Philippines' School of Management. In 1984 she was named an Outstanding Young Woman of America. In 1995 she was the faculty inductee for the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society at Hofstra.
