Bio:
Dr. Ethna Dempsey Lay is an assistant professor of writing studies and composition. She teaches introduction to composition, writing in a digital age, the history of the English language, and rhetorical historiography. With Dr. Jennifer Rich, she is co-editor of a collection of essays on stewardship in writing studies, titled Who Speaks for Writing: Stewardship in Writing Studies in the Twenty-First Century published by Peter Lang in 2012. Her current book project, tentatively titled The Sequels of Literacy: Other Ways of Making Arguments, is an investigation of the way contemporary student writers make meaning in print and digital ways.
