Bio:
William J. McGee teaches Creative Writing in the Department of English and is co-moderator of Hofstra Writers. He recently completed his first novel, AirFear, and is currently working on his second, Bush. He also is an essayist, an investigative journalist for Consumer Reports, a monthly travel columnist for USAToday.com, and a contributor to Condé Nast Traveler, The Washington Post, Newsday, The Daily News, The Boston Herald, Money, Parents, Zagat Guides, and many other publications. For three years he was Editor-in-Chief of Consumer Reports Travel Letter. His work has received the inaugural Michael A. Dornheim Aviation Journalism Award from the National Press Club; three Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism prizes from the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation; the Eugene Dubois Aviation Journalism Award from the North American Airlines Association; and nominations for an Investigative Reporting Deadline Club Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, a National Magazine Award from the American Society of Magazine Editors, and an Enterprise Journalism Award from the Online News Association.
