WRHU, Radio Hofstra University Continues Its Award Winning Programming with Exclusive Convention CoverageHofstra University, Hempstead, NY – WRHU, Radio Hofstra University will continue its award winning news programming with reporters on site at the 2008 Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Denver, CO and the 2008 Republican National Convention (RNC) in St. Paul, MN.
WRHU’s exclusive coverage is also part of Educate ’08, Hofstra University’s unprecedented educational effort that engages students, faculty and the public in a year-long series of conferences, events and lectures about the 2008 election, politics and presidential history.
As part of this extraordinary effort WRHU will be airing WRHU’s Eye on the Conventions from 9 until 11:15 p.m. on 88.7FM and www.wrhu.org beginning Monday, August 25, 2008 at the DNC and ending on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the RNC. On Thursday, August 26, 2008 WRHU’s coverage will be aired on www.wrhu.org in its entirety and will continue on 88.7FM following the Hofstra versus the University of Connecticut football game.
WRHU’s Eye on the Conventions will air post-convention analysis from in-studio panelists including Hofstra University Political Science professors Linda Longmire and David Green as well as Lawrence Levy, executive director of the National Center for Suburban Studies and Michael D’Innocenzo, professor of History and The Harry H. Wachtel Distinguished Teaching Professor for the Study of Nonviolent Social Change.
Additional political coverage will air during Hofstra’s Morning Wake-up Call, Monday through Friday from 7 until 9 a.m. as well as during Newsline, Monday through Thursday from 6 until 6:30 p.m. leading up to WRHU’s largest broadcasting night of the year, Election Night on Tuesday, November 4, 2008.
